The paper discusses the manifestation and application of traditional elements in old Jinan city transformation, studies the architectural styles and landscape design carriers in Jinan city, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of Jinan city transformation, and concludes that em- phasizing city culture value, protecting traditional specialties and grasping new-old design elements application and creation are still the critical task in contemporary old city transformation.
