The geoheritage as product of geological history of the Earth is of scientific and visual value. The fault-block mountain landscape of ＂Datong Sleeping Buddha＂ and the Yungang Grottoes are of importance to tourism of Datong, Shanxi. This paper makes an approach to genesis of the fault-block mountain landscape of ＂Datong Sleeping Buddha＂ and puts forward some protection measures.
