观念文化是由科学知识、道德、艺术所构成的有机系统,观念文化的作用即科学知识、道德、艺术的作用。科学知识的作用在于为人类实践活动提供合乎规律的知识,从而使人的实践活动获得成功。道德的作用在于通过规范调整方方面面的关系,从而使人在有序的活动中实现目的。而艺术的作用在于使活动主体超越功利性而得到提升。它们的相互联结构成人的实践活动不可或缺的重要因素。观念文化有工具性的一面,即满足活动主体活动的需要。然而观念文化的价值不仅在于其工具价值方面,还在于目的方面,即为人的存在与发展提供内在根据。
