During a workshop convened on June 7, 2012 in Beijing, CAS President BAI Chunli conferred the first CAS International Cooperation Award for Young Scientists on five visiting young foreign scientists and their partners in China. They are： Pierre Richard and DING Hong l^om the Institute of Physics, Mehmet Somel and Philipp Khaitovich from the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Thorjorn Larssen and FENG Xinbin from the Institute of Geochemistry, Corwin Sullivan and ZHANG Fucheng from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, and Hisashi Kajiura and SUN Jing from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics.
