摘要
"小说界革命"的作家群可以被分为先后继起的三代:倡导者是一批职业政治家、社会活动家;继他们而起的是历史上第一批职业作家,身处中西、新旧的冲突融合中,在传统士大夫"心怀天下"的精英意识与"以文谋生"的商业关怀之间艰难地寻找平衡;随着小说市场的渐趋成熟,作家的职业化也趋于完成,身份认同由"精英立场"转到"民间立场",创作宗旨与皈依由政治功利主义让位于经济功利主义。
The writers of the modern fiction can be divided into three groups. The advocates are professional politicians or social activists. The followings are the first professional writers. As the novel market gets mature, writer professional process tends to finish： identity by ＂elite position＂ turns to ＂the folk position＂, economic utilitarianism occupies the most important position when writers create.
