Notes on Collations and Explanations of The Record of the Newly Built Whitewater Road

甘肃省徽县《新修白水路记》摩崖石刻成于北宋嘉佑二年二月六日,撰书者系当时著名文人雷简夫。此碑距今已有近千年的历史,因其年代久远且出自名家之手,今人识读此文可能会有一定的困难。为了让人们便于识读并进一步了解这一历史瑰宝,本文将对其进行断句、标点并做简单的校注。

The Record of the Newly Built Whitewater Road inscriptions on precipice in Hui County, Gansu Province, was carved in February 6, the 2 bd of Jiayou （1067AD） of the early Northern Song Dynasty. It was writ- ten by a famous scholar named Lei Jianfu. The stele has a long history of nearly a thousand years. It is not easy for modern people to read and understand the inscriptions because they are written in ancient style and characters. To make it easy for people to read and understand the inscriptions and learn more about this historic treasure, the in- scriptions are punctuated, collated and annotated in the present paper.
