Spring-and-Autumn Period Bronzes in the Collection of the Henan Qixian County Office for the Preservation of Antiquities

淇县古名朝歌,是春秋时期的卫国国都。淇县文物管理所多年来抢救性考古发掘和征集到一批春秋时期的青铜器,对研究卫国历史和春秋时期的青铜器铸造工艺,提供了新的实物资料。兹选取其中的鼎、敦、匜、盘、剑、镞等10件青铜器作以介绍。

Qixian County was named Chaoge in ancient times and was the capital of the Wei State in the Spring-and-Autumn Period. Through salvage archaeological excavation and antiquarian collection for a long period of time, the Qixian County Office for the Preser- vation of Ancient Monuments obtained a number of Spring-and-Autumn Period bronzes, which provided new material data for researches on the history of the Wei State and bronze casting technology in the Spring-and-Autumn Period. The present paper reports ten bronzes collected there that belong to the types of ding tripod, dui food container, yi ewer, dish, sword and arrowhead.
