On the Coercion of Unversity Academic Freedom and Its Resolution

学术是主体——人生产、传播与应用客体——知识的活动,人与知识的自由属性决定了学术的自由本质。大学以学术为本位,学术自由在大学人的学术活动中内在地生成与显现,学术自由是大学人运用自由意志与主体理性,免遭专断意志强制的状态。为避免内外部强制,政府必须尊重大学的内在逻辑,而大学则需要创造自由的学术氛围,学者也应加强道德自律。

Academy is an activity in which people produce, spread and apply knowledge. The free essence of acade- my is decided by flee character of people and knowledge. University is academy-oriented, academic freedom inherently generates and manifests in academic activity. People in university use flee will and freedom in order to get rid of coercion from arbitrary will. For breaking away from coercion, politics must show respect to university logic. Meanwhile, university ought to create flee academic atmosphere, and scholars should also strengthen ethical self-discipline.
