《喧嚣荒塬》是秦东籍军旅作家党益民的成名作,是继陈忠实《白鹿原》之后又一部颇具影响力的家族小说。它在艺术追求上主要收获了四方面成就:一是以宗族械斗为叙事主脉具有多重价值,二是塑造了个性鲜明的人物群像,三是营造了浓郁的魔幻现实主义色彩,四是小说语言表现出较强的审美张力。

Uproaring Wasteland is the first well-known work by Dang Yimin, the military writer, whose hometown is located in the eastern part of Shaanxi Province, and also which is another influential family novel after White Deer Plain by Chen Zhongshi. There are four achievements in the Uproaring Wasterland＇s literary creation： first, taking the clans＇ weapon fights as the narrating main-clue of the novel has multiple values; second, the novel creates the group images with distinct characters; third, the novel creates the taste of magic realism ; forth, the novel language performs a strong aesthetical tension.
