On the Cultural Mission of Contemporary Rural Teachers

乡土文化凋敝导致中国文化"根"的丧失。农村教育在某种程度上与乡土文化处在一个命运共同体中。农村知识分子在乡土文化保存与延续中曾经起着特殊作用。今天,农村教师仍肩负特殊文化使命。培养一支有着正确农村观、热爱乡土文化的农村教师队伍,对乡土文化未来和中国人精神家园守护,均有十分重要的意义。

The depression of the vernacular culture has led to the loss of the ＂root＂ of Chinese culture. In some way, the fate of rural education is closely linked to that of the vernacular culture. The rural intellectuals have played a unique and important role in the protection and transmission of the vernacular culture. Even today, teach- ers in rural areas still bear a special cultural mission. Therefore, it is most urgent to cultivate a group of rural teachers that love the vernacular culture and have a good understanding of it, which is of great significance to pro- mote the vernacular culture and protect the spiritual home of the Chinese people.
