摘要
茨威格的中篇小说《马来狂人》展现了一种特定的性格和情感类型在东方殖民地的背景下自我毁灭的过程。本文试图从作品的叙述视角、男主人公的情感类型、东方殖民地对男主人公的影响等方面出发,运用文本细读的方法,分析男主人公自我毁灭的原因,探讨疾病在这种毁灭过程中的意义。作品主人公受制于特定类型的女性不能自拔,这种激情实际上使他在某种程度上成为了病人。在东方殖民地的背景下,这种激情受到了长久的压制并在一个偶然的机遇下再度爆发并最终造成了主人公的毁灭。
The novella Amok of Stefan Zweig presents the destruction process of a particular type of personality and emotion in the eastern colonial background. The protagonist, a German doctor, is subject to a certain kind of female temptation, and this kind of passion, to some extent, makes him a patient. In the eastern colonial background, the long-depressed passion broke out again by chance, which leads to the protagonist's destruction. This paper analyzes the reason for the protagonist's self-destruction and the role illness plays in the process of the destruction from the angle of the description, the protagonist's emotional type and the influence of eastern colony.
