锅炉设计不合理，实际燃用煤种和设计煤种偏差大，实际燃用煤种的灰熔点远远低于设计煤种的灰熔点，锅炉运行中由于燃烧工况发生变化有结焦趋势时，运行人员不能及时发现，从而导致结焦加剧，严重影响机组的安全运行。据此，本文提出了防止锅炉结焦的一些措施。
