Discussion on the Historical Status of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics

改革开放以来,中国社会主义现代化建设取得了举世瞩目的成就。这些成就的取得,一个重要原因就是中国不仅坚持了社会主义,而且是适合中国国情的社会主义,即中国特色社会主义。中国特色社会主义重要历史地位主要表现在:其理论体系是马克思主义中国化的新成果;其实践是社会主义发展的新展示;其制度是社会主义制度的新创造;其运动是国际共产主义运动的新阶段;其模式是传统社会主义模式的新突破;其旗帜是中华民族伟大复兴的方向;其文明是对人类文明的新贡献。

Since 1978 when the reform and open-up policy was implemented, the construction of socializa- tion modernization in China has achieved great success. One reason for those achievements is that China adheres to socialism, namely the socialism with Chinese characteristics. The important historic status of socialism with Chinese characteristics is mainly manifested in the following aspects： its theory system is the latest fruits of localization of Marxism in China^its practice is new demonstrations of socialist devel- opment ;its system is a original creation of socialism system;its movement is a new stage for international communism movement;its mode is a new breakthrough of the traditional socialist mode;its banner is the direction of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation;its civilization is the new contribution to human civilization.
