摘要
中国非物质文化遗产的英译是中国对外塑造和传播自身形象的窗口,是中国对外宣传翻译的重要组成部分。词汇是语言中最活跃的基本要素,负载着本民族文化的印记。根据等效翻译理论的启示,在非物质文化遗产的英译中译者要正确评估译文读者的认知环境,运用各种策略准确移植词汇所承载的文化,确保译文读者在阅读过程中能够更好地接受。本文以中国首部汉英双语版非物质文化遗产名录为例,以期为今后的相关翻译提供一点启示。
The translation of the materials on Chinese intangible cultural heritage is the gateway to the outside world for China to build her national image and also an important part of the translation for international publicity in China. Words are the most active part of a language and carry on its specific culture. According to the equivalent translation theory, the translator should assess the readers' cognition environment and use different kinds of strategies to transfer the words' cultural images, so as to guarantee TL (target language) readers' reception. The first bilingual directory in China of intangible cultural heritage is taken as an example in order to offer some enlightenment on relevant translations.
