The paper introduces a construction method of controlled blasting for extending cut at existing railway line via an engineering example. By adopting shallow hole controlled blasting and slope smooth blasting technology combining protective measures including strengthening bent and heavy flexible blasting cover, the flying rock is well controlled, and the goal of safety and rapid construction is achieved.
