Probing into the Public English Teaching Model of ESP in Higher Vocational Colleges——Employment-Oriented Public English Teaching Reform Relying on Local Economy

高职院校的办学指导思想决定了高职公共英语的教学改革也必将要依托地方经济,以就业为导向来开发新的学习领域。本文分析了高职公共英语现状,从ESP教学特点出发,结合职场英语,提出了ESP职场英语新教学模式,并探讨了新教学模式下的课程与考试设置和师资队伍建设。

The public English teaching reform in vocational colleges should explore new learning areas relying on the local economy, and be employment -oriented, which are determined by the guiding principles of vocational colleges. Based on the ESP teaching charac- teristics, this paper analyzes the current situation of public English teaching in vocational colleges, and puts forward Workplace English Teaching Model which especially focuses on course ＆ test design and the construction of teaching staff.
