摘要
关于杜诗或唐诗的英译历史源头,国内外观点驳杂且所涉理据大都囿于19世纪史料。本文以史实为据,考证出迄今已知可考的第一首英译杜诗,也应是目前可知且可考的最早英译唐诗,并对整个发现和考证过程以及支撑理据加以细致阐述。
As for the origin of English translation of Du Fu＇ s poem or Tang poetry, it has aroused different views among domestic and overseas scholars, and the related proofs are mainly confined to historical data in the 19th century. This paper,based on historical data, attempts to testify the first known English version of Du Fu＇ s poem, which should also be the first known English version of Tang poetry, expounding the process of the textual researches and the supporting proofs.
