评价理论视角下的中西文学书评态度资源对比研究

Comparing Attitudinal Resources in Chinese and Western Literary Review from the Appraisal-theoretic Perspective

本文在评价理论的框架下对中西文学书评的态度资源运用差异做了分析比较。通过定量分析中西小说书评后发现,两者的态度资源在态度三个次系统即情感、判断、鉴赏的分布上存在较大差异。与西方文学书评相比,中国文学书评评论性不强,偏爱主观性较弱的评价手段。而西方文学书评则较大胆直露地运用评价手段表明自己的立场。这些差异均体现了中西文化如何从人际意义角度出发有意识地建构评价策略,而本文所反映的中西态度资源评价策略差异正体现了这两种文化的观念差异。

Within the framework of Appraisal theory,this paper aims to uncover the strategic differences in Attitude encoding between Chinese and Western literary review.Statistics elicited from quantitative research on the attitudinal resources in these two kinds of review reveal that the two cultures differ in their appraisal patterns in the three sub-systems of Attitude— Affect,Judgment and Appreciation.The differences point to the fact that the Chinese writers exhibit an apparent tendency for being interpersonal and indirect while the Western writers seem to be granted much more freedom in their tasks of book review.
