薄壳苏芡新品种姑苏芡2号的选育

Breeding of Gusuqian No.2,a New Euryale ferox Cultivar with Thin Shell

姑苏芡2号是以紫花苏芡为母本、本地紫花刺芡为父本杂交后,通过单株连续自交系统选育而成的芡实新品种。中早熟,植株无刺,生长势中等,紫花,叶片绿色,萼片短三角形,果实圆球形,直径10 cm左右;籽粒呈红褐色,直径1.4 cm。;米仁直径0.90 cm左右,种壳厚度0.25 cm左右;单果质量0.3 kg,单果籽粒质量0.27 kg,每667 m2鲜米产量110 kg左右。植株抗叶瘤病能力较强,较耐寒。适宜江苏省春季露地栽培。

Gusuqian Nu.2 is a new Euryale ferox cultivar developed by using the consecutive pedigree selection breeding method and taking Zihuasuqian （purple flowering cultivar） as female parent and Zibnaciqian （local purple flowering cuhivar with thorns） as male parent. Gusuqian No.2 is middle-early maturing and has no thorns on leaves and fruits, with medium growth vigor, purple flowers, green leaves, short triangular sepals, round fruits with the diameter of about 10 era. The color of matured seeds is red brown, and the seed diameter is 1.4 em, with the kernel diameter of 0.9 cm and seed shell thickness of 0.25 cm. The single fruit weight is 0.3 kg, with the single seed weight of 0.27 kg, and the yield of fresh kernels is about 110 kg/667m2. Gusuqian No.2 possesses the strong resistance to leaf warty blight and medium tolerance to cold. It is suitable to cultivate in the open fields in Jiangsu province in spring.
