The Formation of Towns in Guizhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and Its Impact on the Development of Ethical Regions in Guizhou

城镇作为经济活动的区域中心,在现代社会发展中起着重要的作用。城镇的形成过程不同,对地区发展的作用和影响也有所区别。本文从考察明清时期贵州城镇的形成历史背景出发,总结其一般性的特征,并在此基础上揭示出其对当今贵州经济格局,尤其是对贵州民族地区经济社会发展的重要影响和启示。

Being the center of economic activities, towns （ or cities） play an important role in the development of modern society. The evolving process of towns varied from one another; hence, their effect on the development of regions also varied. By discussing the historical formation of towns in Guizhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this article summarizes its general features first, and then discusses on its influence on and inspiration to the current economy in Guizhou, especially for the economic and social development in the ethical regions.
