摘要
《释名》成书时代较早,相关史料匮乏,且部分材料孤立无证、甚至相互矛盾。后代学者根据不同史料,对《释名》的作者、成书年代及其篇目等基础性问题做出了不同的判定。考证可以发现,"刘熙作《释名》"说更为可靠;成书年代及其篇目等问题,也随之迎刃而解。
References to the ancient book Shi Ming(Interpretation of Terms) are scarce,isolated or even contradictory.Later scholars made different judgments concerning the authorship,year of completion and chapters based on different historical materials.Investigations reveal its author to be Liu Xi and issues like the year of completion and chapter titles can be resolved accordingly.
