基于60年发展历史对华东理工大学从单科性学院向多科性大学发展的思考

Review of the 60-year Development of East China University of Science and Technology from Single-disciplinary of East China Institute of Chemicals to Multi-disciplinary Academy

本文对华东理工大学成立的历史原因、由单科性学院向多科性大学发展的时代背景进行了分析,对学校60年间由单科性学院向多科性大学发展的学科布局进行了梳理,认为当前华东理工大学向一流多科性大学迈进还面临以下挑战:1.如何突破"缘化工而立,依化工而强";2.发展多科性的同时,如何保持高度;3.多校区的功能整合问题。

The history of the East China University of Science and Technology is reviewed. Analysis is made about the establishment of East China Institute of Chemicals and how the institute transited from the single-disciplinary into a multi-disciplinary academy in past 60 years. In the paper, the author men- tions the challenges the university must face in order to be one of the top universities in our country. There are three points： 1. how to break the beginning and rely on chemistry situation; 2. how to guaran- tee the teaching quality while developing multi subjects; 3. how to integrate the {unctions of multi-cam- pus.
