Objective:To explore the difference of the oxytocin levels between the patients with generalized anxiety disorder and the normal controls, and the relationship between oxytocin levels and symptom severity. Methods:Thirty 32~56 years old patients with generalized anxiety disorder and thirty normal controls were tested by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to evaluate the oxytocin levels, the patients were tested by HAMA to evaluate the severity of generalized anxiety disorder.Results:Mann-Whitney test showed there were significantly higher oxytocin level in patients compared by the controls, there were statistic difference(213.05±84.60,168.50±88.10;Z=-2.780,P〈0.05).The multivariate regression model showed that oxytocin levels are generalized anxiety disorder severity influence factors(adjusted R2=0.149,F=7.310,P〈0.01).Conclusion:Oxytocin levels may be generalized anxiety disorder severity influence factors.
