The Professional Teaching Standards in the West Australian State plays an important role in the teacher professional development in this state. It provides detailed targets for teachers in the aspects of professional knowledge, practice and development. It is characteristic of theoretical and practical unity, stage-level and life-long combination, student-orientedness, stressing latent courses, etc.
