On the Translations of Writings about the Other World in Chinese Literature by the French Jesuit Missionaries in Recent Chinese History ——Take Léon Wieger and Henri Doré for Example

近代来华法国耶稣会士在译介中国文学作品时,对中国文学中的他界书写也有所涉及。其原因包括出于传教目的而了解中国文化;站在天主教的立场上批评中国的迷信观念;客观的学术研究等。主要的译介者包括戴遂良、禄是遒等,译介的他界书写主要出现在一些受佛道观念影响的文学作品中。译介意义一是对汉学研究的贡献;二是作为跨文化宗教思想的传递,有助于西方读者更全面地了解真实的中国。

The French Jesuit Missionaries in recent Chinese history related to the writings about the other world as they translated Chinese literatures. The reason maybe included understanding Chinese culture for mission, criticizing Chinese superstitions on the side of Catholicism, and objective academic research. L^on Wieger and Henri Dor~ were the major translators, and most of the writings a- bout the other world were in the literatures influenced by Buddhism and Taoism. Their translations both contributed to Sinology research and helped the West to know a real China all-sidedly by transmitting inter-cultural religious thoughts.
