The Tradition in the Modern Urban Planning

作者以现代城市规划的发展历程为背景，从思想基础的角度着手，辨析了现代城市规划的计划性与控制性传统。通过对这两种传统的分析和比较，力图对现代城市规划的目的及其作用方式作出进一步的探索，并为规划实践行为提供思想意义上的参考。

Based on the evolution of and from the view of foundation of the modern urban planning, this article recognized two traditions of the modern urban planning, the tradition of planning and controlling. After analyzing and comparing these two traditions, the article tried to study the intentions and functions of the modern urban planning, and provide some references for the practice of urban planning.
