Bisphenol A (BPA), one of the typical environmental endocrine-disrupting chemicals, is widely used in the manufacture of many daily products, such as polycarbonate plastic containers (including baby bottles and reusable water bottles), metallic food cans, paper currencies, household electronics and so on. Human contact with BPA through various sources and there is mounting evidence suggesting that the low dose of BPA exposure plays an important role in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. It is very important to confirm the dose-response relationship between BPA exposure and metabolic syndrome, moreover, to determine the potential mechanism through which BPA exposure acts to exert persistent effects on metabolic syndrome.
