摘要
过去十余年,北美大学图书馆面临着经费紧张、人员冗余、发展挑战等一系列问题,许多图书馆把流通、咨询、馆际互借等传统的服务内容整合到一个物理咨询服务点完成。同时,该服务点还作为其他深层次服务的转接点,承担图书馆各项服务的转接功能。该文主要介绍了北美大学图书馆服务整合的背景、措施、内容、带来的好处和存在的问题等。
This article studies integrated services deployed by North American academic libraries to overcome the emerging challenges during the past decade, such as tight budget, redundant staff and future development. Integrated services consolidate library traditional services including circulation, research consultation and interlibrary loan and turn them into a single service point. Meanwhile it also becomes the one stop service for distant inquiries. The article focuses on the background of integrated service initiatives, content and key points, benefits as well as underlying problems.
