The problem of concrete cracks due to temperature change is a difficult issue for the designer and construction personnel of concrete projects, for which a lot of study has been done and certain success has been reached in temperature control and crack control during construction. However, we can not say that the problem has been solved completely. Since the continuous improvement of construction equipment and technology is made to meet the construction of larger mass concrete dam , and the construction rate is speeded up, the complication and importance of temperature control in mass concrete becomes more and more significant. Various measures have been taken for the mass concrete construction in the Xiaolangdi Project, so that the quantity, frequency and seriousness of concrete cracks have been effectively reduced. It proved necessary to adopt the proper method and procedure of temperature control.
