Again on the Definition of Sports Tourism

从历史发展的视角阐述了体育旅游概念产生的背景和发展脉络,分析了30多年来中外学者对体育旅游概念"三元论"的界定。在此基础上,提出了"三元论"定义存在的问题及其重新界定体育旅游概念的"四元论"定义。

Since the 21st centry, sports tourism has become a heated topic in the world of sports and tourism industry. Unfortunately, the definition of sports tourism is still a matter of debate. In this paper, the background and the process of development of the conception of sports tourism are introduced from the historical perspective. The definition of sports tourism with trichotomy, which has been proposed by the scholars both at home and a- broad over the past three decades, is reviewed and some shortcomings of the definition are put forward. On this basis, a new definition from the point view of quadruplicitism is presented.
