摘要
通过对中国英语学习者语料库的两个字库ST3和ST5中分别随机抽取的50篇作文作为语料对比分析,试图深入了解中国大学1-2年级学生过渡连接词误用的情况。大学英语专业1-2年级的学生在过渡连接词的使用方面要好于大学非英语专业1-2年级的学生,但同时表明大学1-2年级学生在使用语篇衔接手段方面的能力不足。提出教师应充分利用语料库中的真实语料资源,让学生真正了解到不同过渡连接词的具体使用方法,同时学生应充分发挥自身的主观能动性,意识到正确使用过渡连接词的重要性,最终达到英语写作中的衔接与连贯。
Through a corpus-based contrastive analysis on 50 compositions from two Chinese Learner English Sub-corpuses ST3 and ST5, this paper attempts to obtain a better picture of the current situation of Chinese college learners' misuse of transitional words in their English writings. The result shows that in terms of using transitional words, freshmen and sophomore college students in English major perform better than those of non-English major. Both groups are weak in using the means of cohesion. The paper suggests that teachers recommend their students using real corpus resources to help them correctly use transitional words; the students should also give full play to the initiative and be conscious of the significance of proper using of transitional words, then, cohesion and coherence in their English writing can be achieved.
