The scientific and technological cooperation between Yunnan Province of China and ASEAN has promoted the social and eco- nomic development of both sides. The universities in Yunnan should grasp this opportunity for strategic development, make the best use of the geographical advantages and their special disciplines and projects, and extend the key fields for further scientific and technologi- cal cooperation in order to produce more economic and social benefits for both sides.
