This paper introduces the development of the intelligent traffic management platform iScope, which represents the ad-vance of the intelligent traffic management system in China. The iScope has evolved in 3 stages, from the standalone traffic control station for road sections to regional traffic management network and latest, the intelligent integrated traffic management system, each of the stages responding to the growing needs of highway construction. The versions of the iScope in different stages are described focusing on the platform architecture. The representative highways where the versions of iScope are in-stalled are given. The further development of the iScope platform is suggested.
