面子理论在汉英问候语中的应用研究

拟从汉英问候语这个角度探讨跨文化交际中的中西方面子理论的应用,发现中西方面子理论在言语式问候语的方式以及体态式问候语方面的应用是相似的,均是为了满足对话双方的积极面子;在言语式问候语的内容和问候语中的称谓语方面的应用则有较大的差别,主要表现在中国的面子理论更强调积极面子的满足,以期获得对方的喜爱或赞同,而西方的面子理论更注重消极面子的被保护,即不干扰别人的自由。

This article intends to make a discussion on the application of face theory to Chinese and English greetings. It finds that in the aspect of verbal greetings＇ method and non - verbal greetings, face theory has similar application - - - the fulfillment of positive face. While in the aspect of verbal greetings＇ content and address form, face theory is applied differently. Chinese face theory pays more attention to the fulfillment of positive face in order to gain other people＇ s favor or agreement. In contrast, Western face theory mainly focuses on the protection of negative face, which means the protection of one＇ s freedom.
