The paper gives some succinct definitions of part theories on context and its specific connotations based on science and economy text translation. Stress is laid on an analysis of some mistakes in translating these texts from the perspective of context by offering some examples. The mistranslations are mainly attributed to their authors＇ deficiency of extra - linguistic knowledge required in understanding source texts,which needs to be improved to meet the challenge of this country＇ s current industrialized translation.
