Transit priority is the only way to solve the problems of urban transport and achieve the sustainable development of urban transport in China. It is very important for the implementation of energy strategies, the improvement of environmental protection, the intensive and economical use of urban land and the construction of low-carbon cities in the new period of develop~ ment of society and economy in China. By analyzing the successful experience of conventional transit system in Singapore, the enlightenment for the new-round development strategy of conventional transit system in China is explored, which is very illuminating for the further leapfrog development of urban transport in China.
