Objective Compare the differences between Lenstar and A-scan ultrasound biometry for measuring the anterior chamber depth and lens thickness in order to evaluate the accuracy of those two instruments. Methods Totally 35 eyes of 31 cataract patients were measured with both Lenstar and A-scan ultrasound biometry separately. Date were analyzed using a paired samples t test and Blant-Altman plots. Results The measurements of anterior chamber depth with Lenstar was ( 3. 047 ± 0. 384) mm. A-scan ultrasound biometry was ( 2. 853 ± 0. 397 ) ram, the difference was statistically significant ( t = 2.242, P 〈 0.05 ). The measurements of lens thickness with Lenstar was ( 4. 546 ± 0. 370 ) nun, A-scan ultra- sound biometry was ( 4.631 ± 0.411 ) mm, the difference was not statistically significant ( t = 0. 912, P 〉 0. 05 ). The Bland-Ahanm showed that the two decices had nan-comparable results for anterior chamher depth and lens thickness. Condusion Attention should be paid to the differences between Lenstar and A-scan ultrasound biometry in clinical practice. The two device may not be directly substituted for each other.
