昆仑关战役是抗战相持阶段桂南会战中最大的一次战役,中国军队以惨重代价取得胜利。在战役中,第三届广西学生军发动民众破坏日军补给,保障中国军队战地后勤,协调军民关系,为部队提供情报,进行战地宣传,配合其他武装力量袭击日军,对保证战役胜利起了很大的作用。
