Through the analysis of Packet Tracer software＇s functions and characteristics, it is pointed out that using simulation software Packet Tracer in the course of ＂Switch/Router Configuration＂ in higher vocational colleges may reduce the experiment capitalized cost and improve the efficiency of students＇ doing experiment. It can deepen students＇ understanding of the basic theories and concepts. The paper introduces the application of Packet Tracer by the practical example that has NAT configuration.
