The Glove Puppet Shows Originating in Quanzhou in the 17th century, the glove puppet shows is now popular mainly in Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Chaozhou and Taiwan. It is a local play performed using glove puppets. Excluding the head, which is carved by wood, the body and four limbs of the puppet are all made of cloth.
