On Cultural Differences in Metaphor between French and Chinese

隐喻是一种十分常用的修辞方式,却由于自身结构的特点而常被人忽略。在法语和汉语两种语言中,隐喻都被大量使用,在将一种语言翻译成另一种时不能只是随意地找出对应解释直接翻译,而是要根据不同语言的用语习惯和文化习俗等方面来翻译。本文旨在从文化的角度分析法汉两种语言中的隐喻翻译方法,探讨隐喻中的文化涵义。

Metaphor is a common rhetorical device, but is often ignored due to the characteristics of its own structure. In French and Chinese, metaphor is widely used. In bilingual translation, we should translate in accordance with different language habits and cultural customs, instead of random meaning-equivalence translation. This paper aims to analyze metaphor translation in French and Chinese from the perspective of culture, and explores the cultural connotation in metaphor.
