GU Yan-wu and the Court Aviso of Ming Dynasty —with a talk on the value of the historical data of news

明清之际学者顾炎武在考察明代历史过程中 ,非常注重邸报的史料价值。他关于邸报“唐时已有”的论断 ,迄今仍是支撑中国新闻传播史研究的基本课题之一。从顾炎武的有关论述中可以看到 ,邸报作为史料具有极高的存史和证史的价值 ;以往发生的新闻 ,是考察历史不可忽视甚至是至关重要的线索和证据。“报是现在的史 ,史是过去的报” 。

GU yanwu,a scholar at the turn of Ming and Qing Dynasties,paid much attention to the historical values of the court aviso when he was observing the history of Ming Dynasty.His claim that the first appearance of the court aviso was in Tang dynasty has been the basic statement for supporting the study of the history of Chinese news promulgation.From his statements,it could be seen that historical data have great value to maintain and verify history and the past news could be served as the most important clues and evidences to study history.Therefore,enlightened by Gli Yan-wu's rearch experience of research and his life,we could draw ae conclusion that newspaper is the present history,while history is the past newspaper.
