Globalization, Intercultural Communication and Role of the University

经济全球化必然带来世界各国文化的大交流、大碰撞和大整合。在全球化的态势下 ,文化建设必须持开放的心态 ,通过平等的跨文化交际 ,加强文化了解和文化认同 ,建立各国文化共存共荣的多元化世界文化新格局。大学在建立这种格局中起着举足轻重的作用。

Economic globalization leads inevitably to greater exchange, collision and accommo-dation of the world′s various cultures. In the global context, there should be an open attitude towards cultural growth. Cultural understanding and accommodation should be strengthened through intercultural communication on an equal footing. Intercultural exchange and co-operation has become an important function of higher education in the new century. Tertiary educational institutions play a decisive role in this international structure.
