On Studying the Development of Xuanyan Poetry Over the Past Twenty Years in China

研究玄言诗 ,首先须明了其义界和流变问题。玄言诗 ,实为以玄学思维方式来体悟玄理的诗 ,其中的玄理包括三玄和佛理。对玄言诗流变的研究 ,关键在于对其起始阶段的确定 ,这又涉及到对其义界的界定以及对“何晏之徒 ,率多浮浅”的理解。“浮浅”实指“浮华” 。

To make researches on Xuanyan poetry,we must understand its definition and development. Xuanyan poetry,in fact,is the poems to comprehend Xuanli including the theories of three Xuan and Buddhism in the thinking way of Xuanxue(metaphysics). The key to research on the development of Xuanyan poetry is to fix its initial stage, which involve its definition and comprehension of “He Yan and his like are superficial'.In my opinion,the “superficiality' means ostentation which is the title of Heyan's behavior.
