Benefit from Exemplary Conduct in Old China’s Officialdom

中华传统道德文化源远流长 ,“为官重德”、“浩然正气”、“谨言慎行”、“重义轻利”等是中国古代官德的基本内容 ,在当今仍有现实意义 。

China is proud of its long tradistion of moral cultivation.We hear of such mottoes as “An official shouldput a premium on morality”,“Moral character is a pervading force”,“Speak carefully and behave honorably”,“Put your principles before money” etc.These were some important rules of conduct among good officials in ancient China; but they have practical significance to day,eskecially that of a mirror in improving the moral cultivation of contemproary leading cadres.
