摘要
本文以广东工业大学商学院大一非英语专业新生为研究对象,结合定量和定性的研究方法,定量的研究方法调查研究学生习作中语法隐喻的三个子类即概念语法隐喻、人际语法隐喻和语篇语法隐喻三项的使用情况和形态分布;同时比对上述使用情况与语篇构建能力之间的相关关系,从词汇密度(lexical density)、语篇简洁连贯(coherence and brevity)、句式变换(variation of sentence pattern)、母语负迁移(inter-lingual transfer)四个维度考查与语法隐喻使用频率之间的相关关系。定性的研究方法通过随机访谈(interview)了解学生对语法隐喻概念及其语篇功能的认知,调查其写作中面临的主要困境及对改革大学英语教学的建议。
This paper takes the non-English first-year students as its subjects, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Quantitative research investigates the frequencies and distribution pattern of the three sub-categories of grammatical metaphor, i.e. ideational metaphor, interpersonal metaphor and textual metaphor in student's writing assignments, and the interrelationship between the analysis results above and textual construction ability, i.e. the relationship between grammatical metaphor frequency and the four dimensions of lexical density, coherence and brevity, variation of sentence pattern, and inter-lingual transfer. The qualitative research uses interview to investigate students' awareness of the concept Of grammatical metaphor and its textual function, their difficulties in writing and their suggestions for college English teaching.
