Three Propositions on the Teaching of Writings in Classical Chinese

To cultivate the ability of students to read simple writings in classical Chinese is an important part of Chinese teaching in middle school.Attention is to be paid to three aspects.First,it is necessary to develop students′instinctive feel for classical Chinese through following the traditional method of reading aloud.Second,idioms are to be used to explain writings in modem Chinese and comparisons are to be made between the old meaning and the new one of a word of classical Chinese.Third,rules and characteristics of conversion of parts of speech have to be grasped.And words are the emphasis of the teaching.
