摘要
高职英语的职业化转向具有深厚的语言学和认知心理学理据。在专门用途英语的背景下,我们对职业英语作出了一个简要的界定,探讨它与专门用途英语和传统专业英语的渊源,明确了职业英语的学科地位,并追溯了职业英语改革的应用语言学及认知心理学理据。我们认为,职业英语符合语言认知规律和高职学生认知心理特点,有助于革除传统应试教育的某些弊端,提高学生的职业英语交际能力。
This paper tries to briefly define a new English teaching trend:English for Vocational Purposes(EVP),and trace back its relationship with ESP.Meanwhile,some features of EVP and motivations of the applied linguistics and cognitive psychology underlying it is also explored.We assume that the EVP reform can avoid the weakness of test-oriented English teaching in vocational colleges and make English teaching more effective.
