2010年4月20日22:00(美国中部时间),位于墨西哥湾的“深水地平线”钻井平台发生爆炸并引发大火,大约36小时后沉入墨西哥湾。平台共有工作人员126人,事故造成11人死亡,17人重伤。钻井平台底部油井自2010年4月24El起漏油不止。水下封堵经5个月才成功,漏油扩散区域覆盖了墨西哥弯长达1500公里的海岸线。可以说,墨西哥湾漏油事故是世界石油工业史上损失最惨重、影响最恶劣的事故。通过分析墨西哥湾漏油事故的前因后果,可以为海上石油生产安全和大型项目管理提供宝贵的经验和建议。
