In order to get hazardous parameters of AIBN under various thermal stress conditions, a simplified Pressure Vessel Test was carried out to test the decomposition intensity of AIBN. Both DSC and ARC were used to study the thermal decomposition process of it. Kinetic parameters in the whole reaction process were calculated by using the software, named as Advanced Kinetics and Technology Solutions AKTS.TSADT was acquired by extrapolation method based on ARC data. Results show that the decomposition intensity of AIBN is II and it is easy to show explosive property, that the onset temperature (about 78℃ ) and TSADT(about 60℃) are very low, and that the exothermic decomposition reaction takes place parallel with the endothermic melting process. So, in the actual process of production, usage, storage and transportation of AIBN, it is essential to strengthen temperature monitoring and take effective measures to cool it according to the actual situations.
